Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is introducing new multi-modal passes for Bee Network bus and Metrolink tram services starting March 23, 2025. These passes will offer monthly and annual options for combined travel, costing as low as £2.75 per day. Annual passes can be financed through Credit Unions with weekly or monthly repayments. The launch coincides with the implementation of the 'tap-in, tap-out' system, allowing passengers to pay the lowest fare at the end of the day by scanning bank cards or phones on Metrolink platforms or Bee Network buses.

Bee Network bus and Metrolink tram tickets are in for a shake-up from March as Transport for Greater Manchester bosses confirmed the launch of new ‘multi-modal’ passes.

Passengers will be able to spread the cost of annual multi-modal tickets, which cost at least £1,000, by purchasing it through a Credit Union and making repayments weekly or monthly. They follow the recent introduction of the ‘hopper’ bus ticket, which allows passengers to catch as many buses as they like within an hour of paying their fare.

He said: “These are the latest steps in a continuous programme of work to deliver better and more joined up public transport through the Bee Network for the people and businesses of Greater Manchester.
