Belfast DJ Chris Kirkpatrick, also known as Shugz, is thrilled after signing a major record deal with Columbia Records, the same label that represents Calvin Harris and Beyoncé. Chris has become a popular figure in the local dance music scene and has recently performed internationally in countries like Australia, Thailand, and Taiwan.
A Belfast DJ has spoken of his delight after he signed a major record deal with the same company which represents global superstars such as Calvin Harris and Beyoncé.
“I signed a major record deal there with Columbia, for the first time in my career I’m actually going to be making mainstream music,” Chris told Belfast Live. “I’m still building and trying to keep myself as relevant as possible and getting better as time goes on. “I started when I was about 15, got my first set of decks off my brother and eventually got my own set and started making and producing music.
“I’ve built a fan base in these places over the last few years, it’s definitely the best thing about my job, being able to travel all over the world..
