'These last five months, as you can imagine, have been extremely difficult...'
The family of a young man killed in a Valentine's Day crash have embarked on a fundraising journey in his memory.
Speaking about the grief their family has felt, Michelle Duffy, Danny's sister, said: "These last five months as you can imagine have been extremely difficult due to the traumatic nature of our loss and everything that comes with that."There have been times when there has been nowhere to turn for support in managing the traumatic material that comes with this type of loss."
And they are doing so, to raise money for a charity that has been a lifeline for them in the days and months after his tragic death."This is a charity set up by other people who have also tragically lost loved ones on our roads. These amazing people are using their own pain and experiences to help support those of us going through this terrible loss. They travel throughout Northern Ireland to ensure no family has to journey this alone.
"They provide one to one counselling, monthly support groups in various locations, court support, advocacy and promote road safety awareness to reduce the number of deaths on our roads. They also provide opportunities for fun days, outing and a yearly remembrance service, so that families can get together to support each other.
