Caroline Murphy was the project manager at Suffolk Community Forum in West Belfast for many years
Residents in West Belfast have gathered to remember a local community activist with a memorial event.
An plaque in Caroline's memory was unveiled within the garden to remember her within the community and immortalise her work. It reads: "In memory of Caroline Murphy. For her love of nature and positive community relations." Lord Mayor Micky Murray paid tribute to Caroline by recognising her extensive community work, and how she has helped to transform the area. He said: "Caroline Murphy was more than just a community worker - she was the heart and soul of the Suffolk area.
In her memory, the Mayor said the community should honour her by continuing her positive work. He said: "It's a fitting tribute to a woman who sowed seeds of unity, growth, and progress. "Let us honour her memory by continuing her work by nurturing this garden, and fostering the sense of community she so passionately believed in."
