The 28-year-old left-back has not featured in the Premier League since April 2024 and was informed last August that he was not part of Enzo Maresca's plans. Chilwell's only appearance this season came as a substitute in the Blues' Carabao Cup victory against Barrow in September.\'I'm very excited to be here,' Chilwell said on the official Crystal Palace website.
'Crystal Palace is a club that's going in a great direction. You look at the last few months, with the results and how the team's playing, and it was a no-brainer to make the decision to come here.' Palace were eager to sign Chilwell to bolster their defensive options following the injury to Morocco international Chadi Riad.\Chelsea signed Chilwell from Leicester City on a five-year deal worth £45m in 2020, which was then extended in April 2023. Chilwell was excluded from Gareth Southgate's provisional 33-man England squad for Euro 2024. Chilwell could make his Palace debut against Doncaster Rovers in the fourth round of the FA Cup on February 10 (19:45 GMT)
