Joe Pryce hopes his side can do well in all of the cup competitions this season
Joe Pryce says Rutherglen Glencairn reaching the Scottish Junior Cup final last season provided a major boost to them and the town, and hopes they can do the same in other competitions.
Glens tackle West of Scotland Premier League high-fliers Benburb in a second round tie at New Tinto Park and go into it on the back of a 2-1 derby win at home to Cambuslang Rangers on Saturday. Pryce hopes that puts them back on the winning trail, which can continue with what would be an upset in the competition.
He said: “Benburb are a Premier League side, a tough side to play against, we know that, and we just need to recover this week and be ready for next Saturday.“The league is obviously the most important, but we saw last year, managing to get to the Scottish Junior Cup final was a huge bit of prestige for the club and the community, so we’d like to go as far as we can in all competitions.
