Mayor Cyril Kleem was unable to convince Berea City Council to pass his newest proposed legislation that would have temporarily banned recreational cannabis businesses.

BEREA , Ohio -- Mayor Cyril Kleem was unable to convince City Council at its May 6 meeting to pass his newest proposed legislation that would have instituted a temporary ban on recreational cannabis businesses.
He added that council’s other intent is to permanently ban cannabis cultivation and processing facilities, which likely will require creation of a second piece of legislation. “They do have significantly different, more serious problems than other types of businesses,” he said.
