Manchester City leapfrogged Liverpool and Arsenal in the Premier League title race over the weekend
Manchester City stormed past Luton Town to retake the lead in the Premier League title race, while Crystal Palace defeated the Reds and Aston Villa crushed the Gunners. The reigning champions are now two points clear at the top of the table, with an eight-goal difference separating Arsenal and Liverpool, respectively.
"It was obviously a very good weekend for us; I’m not going to deny that because personally, I wasn’t expecting both teams to drop points," said the 29-year-old midfielder. "Before, we didn’t depend only on ourselves, so we had to do our job and wait for them to drop points. Silva added: "Two weeks ago, when we played Arsenal, everything looked like it was gone and now it looks like Man City is going to win the Premier League. In two weeks, maybe it will change again.
"We have to be game by game, Madrid tomorrow, then on the weekend we have another tough game against Chelsea in the FA Cup, then we have Premier League. In oneweek,k we could lose all three competitions.
