From spookily-themed fancy dress to festival events, there's a host of fabulous pumpkin patches to enjoy in our region this October
With the nights drawing in and a definite nip in the air, there can be no doubt that autumn is upon us in Lancashire.
Farmer Ted's Pumpkin Festival, Flatman's Lane, Ormskirk, L39 7HW Pumpkins, chills and thrills are on the spooky menu this October at Farmer Ted’s Pumpkin Festival near Ormskirk which opens this Sunday on October 2. Located at the site of the interactive, Halloween-themed ‘Farmaggedon’ event, this pumpkin picking site is to be found in the farm’s very own pumpkin patch.
But you'll have to be quick - tickets are limited and every year is a sell out, say organisers. Tickets include a full day's admission to Windmill Animal Farm, complete with all its animals and activities. The gorgeous, scenic location of this peaceful, Up Holland farm is open for pumpkin picking from 10am to 5pm, and free tickets are not needed in the week from October 7 to 21, although they are required at the weekends and from Saturday, October 22 until Sunday, October 30.
Opening hours for the pumpkin picking are Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 5pm, and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.No booking is required, and there is no admission fee. The farm asks that people make donations at the end of Halloween towards Woodlands Hospice. To find out more, visit the farm’s Facebook page.
