County officials announced that the Bexar County ' Records System ' is now operational again following a series of system-wide outages. SAN ANTONIO - County officials announced that the Bexar County ' Records System ' is now operational again following a series of system-wide outages.

These outages, which occurred last week, led to significant delays in bookings and releases at the Bexar County Jail. The glitches in the database emerged just days after the county signed a $30 million contract with Tyler Technology. The new system incorrectly reported innocent individuals as guilty, resulting in extended incarcerations for some. Over 800 cases were caught in the backlog, all stemming from issues with the new system.

Sheriff Javier Salazar expressed his concerns about the new system in a statement: "The system indicated at one point we had over 5,100 inmates in-house when we knew for a fact, we did not. I know other major agencies are watching to see how this system performs for us as they consider a purchase. But, I'd be extremely hard-pressed to say anything positive about the system or process.
