Beyoncé's first presale for her Renaissance World Tour has ignited controversy due to the exorbitant ticket prices. Despite a large number of fans securing tickets, many took to social media to express their disappointment over the cost, calling it 'diabolically expensive' and 'robbery'.
Beyoncé 's first presale event commenced today, February 11, exclusively for members of The BeyHive, her official fan club. Tickets became available at midday, but the experience was marred by widespread fan criticism over the exorbitant prices. Yesterday, Beyoncé amplified the excitement surrounding her upcoming Renaissance World Tour by announcing five new dates. These additions include a fifth and sixth night in London, a third night in Chicago, Paris, and Atlanta.
Access to today's sale was restricted to those who had registered on Beyoncé's official website, receiving a unique code to participate. The high demand led to Ticketmaster, the ticketing platform, experiencing technical difficulties. However, many fans expressed their disappointment and frustration over the 'diabolically expensive' ticket pricing. Prices range from £71.60 to £950 (inclusive of fees), with an additional per-order handling fee of £2.75.The breakdown of ticket categories and their associated costs is as follows: South Standing tickets cost £201.60 plus £20.75, Category One tickets are £251.60 plus £24.00, Category Two tickets are £141.60 plus £15.75, Category Three tickets are £106.60 plus £12.60, Category Four tickets are £86.60 plus £10.60, and Category Five tickets are £61.60 plus £7.50. Prices escalate further to £507.35 for the Club Ho-Down section and reach a staggering £919.21 for the Sweet Honey Pit or Buckin' Honey Pit. Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their dismay. One user, Braysosirius, stated: 'Got my Beyoncé tickets up in the rafters because everything was diabolically expensive.' Valencia expressed her frustration, saying: 'BEYONCÉ WHAT ARE THESE PRICES... OH LONDON BEYHIVE IT'S SO OVER... F*** YOU TICKETMASTER.' AT remarked, 'Beyoncé you must be pranking the world with these ticket prices, what the heck.' Jamie commented, 'I’m sorry but Beyoncé charging £224 for a general admission standing ticket is robbery.' Vanessa echoed the sentiment, stating, 'This is actually disgusting Beyonce girl. I'm disappointed. I wanted these tickets but I can’t be spending half a month of rent on them.' Despite the backlash, a significant number of fans celebrated securing tickets for the tour. X user P exclaimed, 'I GOT BEYONCÉ TICKETS. OMFG. I GOT BEYONCÉ TICKETS. I'M SEEING HER AGAIN IN PARIS GOLDEN CIRCLE GOODBYEEEE.' Nora shared her excitement, saying, 'I GOT MY TICKETS BEYONCÉ I’M COMING!!!!!!' Kim simply declared, 'WE GOT TICKETS FOR BEYONCÉ.'
