Biden's campaign continues to use TikTok, despite the president himself indicating that he would sign a bill that may ban it.

Biden joined TikTok last month, in an effort to connect with younger voters. The move came amid wider controversy over the app, whose parent company, ByteDance, has come under scrutiny due to its ties to. The House is expected to vote on a bill advanced by the House Energy and Commerce Committee last week that would make it illegal for app stores to host companies connected to “foreign adversaries,” such as China.

Some figures on TikTok aren’t so enthusiastic about Biden, however, including his presence on the app.that the Biden campaign’s presence on TikTok so far has amounted to “just using it to post cringy memes about Trump.”

“Young people care about issues, that’s why young people are so unhappy with Biden over action on climate change, over the situation in Gaza,” Mohanty said. “Just because Biden is posting on TikTok, that’s not what’s going to pull young people over.”
