US President Joe Biden has indicated it isn’t the right time to include Ukraine in the NATO alliance ahead of the summit this week.
In an exclusive interview with CNN, Mr Biden claims it’s too “premature” but says the US will still provide weapons to the country.
Cluster bombs are being sent to Ukraine for the first time to the unease of some Western nations as Kyiv mounts a counter offensive against Russia. Alliance membership will be a key focus at the NATO summit in Lithuania this week, which the President is attending with other world leaders.
