MATAG-OB, Leyte – The third Himorasak Festival here will be bigger and brighter this year and highlights the municipality's bountiful harvest and growing tourism industry. Mayor Bernandino Tacoy attributed the increased agricultural output to the successful rice derby held last year that spurred further agricultural initiatives.
To share the prosperity, the local government will sell rice at P20 per kilogram to 1,000 indigent families. "Hopefully, with the continuing increase of our harvest and economic growth, we will be able to achieve this goal with the help of our national government," he said.
