The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has closed a popular Chinese restaurant in Makati and its four branches for alleged serious violations of the Tax Code. | ManilaBulletin
Revenue Deputy Commissioner for Operations Maridur Rosario signed the closure order against Shanzhen Haiwei Food of Salcedo One St., San Lorenzo Village based on the recommendation of Makati Revenue Regional Director Florante R. Aninag.
Additionally, its four branches situated at 252 Sen. Gil Puyat Ave., Pio Del Pilar, Makati City; Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Paranaque City; One Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, and Trade and Financial Tower on 7th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City were also shutdown.
Among the violations cited were non-issuance of receipts and invoices, under-declaration of sales by more than 30 percent and non-registration of one of it's branches. Revenue officials who served the closure order said the main restaurant and it's branches will remain closed until it's owners correct the violations, pay the corresponding deficiency taxes and fines.
The closures were carried out under the "Oplan Kandado" program vigorously implemented by BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui, Jr. to make business operators comply with revenue regulations and pay correct taxes.
