Bizarre reason Man United missed out on signing new Liverpool star Darwin Nunez MUFC
Manchester United reportedly approached Benfica to try and strike a deal for Liverpool’s new signing Darwin Nunez.
However, before the 22-year-old starred against his new club in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Premier League interest was already mounting., West Ham saw a £45m offer rejected, with Benfica keen to see how the Champions League knockout stages would affect Nunez’s price tag. Costa said he and his family suffered food poisoning while celebrating his birthday in March, three months before Liverpool swooped in.
