An Army Black Hawk helicopter involved in a fatal collision with a passenger plane in Washington DC was on a training mission simulating a response to a national emergency, officials have revealed. The crew were rehearsing for a 'continuity of government' mission, which aims to ensure the US government can continue functioning in the event of a disaster like a nuclear attack, terror attack or natural disaster.
