A Treyarch dev has confirmed that the 'Mason Lives' ending from BO2 will not be canon in the upcoming Black Ops 6.
Alex Mason remains one of the most memorable characters in the Black Ops series for a reason; his harrowing tale is hard to forget. Unfortunately, in Activision and Treyarch’s upcoming Black Ops 6, that’s all Mason will be soon—a memory. According to Miles Leslie, associate creative director at Treyarch , Mason’s death at the hands of Frank Woods in Black Ops 2 is canon. “Our Black Ops operatives have been through a lot.
Predictably enough, this news hasn’t gone down all too well with hardcore fans since many were hoping the ‘Mason Lives’ ending would be canon. Of course, some are still holding out hope that the ‘best ending,’ where Mason somehow manages to survive a .50 caliber bullet wound and reunites with Woods in their old age, becomes true. Sadly, this seems highly unlikely, especially after Miles Leslie’s statements.
