Black Sabbath have announced a one-off final performance with rock icon Ozzy Osbourne . The band's original lineup, featuring Tony Lommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, will reunite for a historic show at Villa Park in Birmingham, marking their first performance together in two decades. The event, titled 'Back to the Beginning,' will take place on Saturday, July 5th.
All proceeds from the show will be equally distributed among three charities: Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.The day will be a celebration of heavy metal with an impressive lineup of performers. Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice In Chains, Halestorm, Lamb Of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon are all scheduled to take the stage. Adding to the excitement, a supergroup featuring an all-star cast of musicians, including Billy Corgan, David Draiman, Duff McKagan, Frank Bello, Fred Durst, Jonathan Davis, Scott Ian, Sleep Token’s II, and more, will also perform. Music Director Tom Morello has described the event as 'the greatest heavy metal show ever.'The event will pay homage to the pioneers of heavy metal, with Ozzy Osbourne delivering a short solo set before joining Black Sabbath for his final farewell performance. 'It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born,' Ozzy remarked. 'How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.'
