Tashkin Ali was jailed for nine years after the incident in 2020
Tashkin Ali of Whalley New Road, Blackburn was jailed for sexual assault and theft in a targeted attack of a teenager. Today , Ali begins a nine-year sentence after being found guilty of the assault and the theft of a mobile phone.
Her friend recognised she needed assistance and went to go and get her a glass of water from inside. A man, who we now know was Ali, approached the victim to say he would call her a taxi, but instead dragged her outside the venue and into a dark car park close by. Then the victim realised her Huawei mobile phone had been stolen. Ali was identified by witnesses and brought to custody. The missing mobile was recovered at his residence.
