Blackburn Rovers v Cardiff City LIVE: Team news, updates and reaction from Ewood Park EFL
Blackburn's first fixture of the new year takes place this afternoon when Rovers host Cardiff City. Blackburn currently lie third in the Championship table and have recorded only one win in their last five league encounters.
Their win at Norwich has been overshadowed by losses against Preston North End, Sunderland and - most recently - Middlesbrough. Welsh outfit Cardiff have experienced an equally troubled run of form recently with four draws and a loss in their last few fixtures. Cardiff are currently hovering just above the relegation zone and are placed 20th in the Championship table. Jon Dahl Tomasson's side will be heading into the game with confidence and will be hoping to take home all three points when the two sides meet at Ewood Park later.
