Repairs have begun on Blackpool Central Pier after a woman plunged 30ft through boards onto the beach below.
Pictures shared today with LancsLive show workmen on the pier carrying out repairs following the incident on Tuesday afternoon. The hole, described as a 'trap door', has now been covered up.North West Ambulance Service confirmed the women fell "approximately 30ft through the pier". An ambulance, a critical care paramedic team, an advanced paramedic, and an operational commander attended the scene.
A NWAS spokesperson told LancsLive: "We called to an incident at the pier after reports that a patient had fallen approximately 30 feet through the pier. We responded with an ambulance, a critical care paramedic team, an advanced paramedic, and an operational commander.
