Sophie Ellis-Bextor flicked the giant switch as the Switch-on event turned outdoors for the first time since 2019
The greatest free light show on earth is glowing once again. Blackpool Illuminations will now shone for an amazing 122 days.
Thousands lined the promenade to enjoy live music from pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who had the job of flicking the giant switch to turn the six miles of lights on for another year. The night included a huge family party and a Nickelodeon Grand Parade, with visitors packed along the seafront wowed by a stunning fireworks display along the seafront to really launch the illuminations season in style.
