BREAKING: Road is expected to be closed for most of the evening
Blackpool Police have issued a statement this evening stating that they are dealing with a serious Road Traffic Collision on Queen's Promenade, Blackpool. As a result, the Promenade is currently closed between Cavendish Road and Duchess Drive.
There will be no access inland from Norfolk Avenue. These road closures are expected to be closed for some time.Traffic monitoring website Inrix stated that the incident involved a motorcycle. As a result, the road is expected to be closed for the rest of the evening and slow traffic will be in the area as a result. It said: "A584 Queen's Promenade in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident, a motorcycle involved between Cavendish Road and Duchess Drive.
LancsLive contacted Lancashire Constabulary for more information. They told us: "We were called at 5.25pm by the North West Ambulance Service to a report of a road traffic collision on Queens Promenade, Blackpool. A motorbike was in collision with a pedestrian. The road is closed and is expected to remain so for some time."
