Blackpool plans to eradicate its adult entertainment venues to make the town more family friendly
Local leaders hope the plans – due to go out to public consultation – will see adult entertainment venues slowly eradicated with more families attracted to Blackpool’s famous bright lights.Councillor Andrew Hutton, chair of the town’s licencing committee, told the‘We used to, or we still do to some extent, but not as much, suffer from the stag and hen nights, and obviously lap dancing clubs are used by young men and some older ones when they come to Blackpool for their stag nights.
‘At the moment it’s a softly, softly approach, so that we can over the next two or three years reduce lap dancing clubs to zero.’If that measure fails, the council will consider whether further action is necessary. Toni, who became a single mum at 21, needed a job that fitted around university and childcare – describing stripping as a ‘perfect’ solution and ‘empowering’.
