, China's second largest games company, also owns the Shanghai Dragons, making it a franchisee of the Overwatch League.
Blizzard has now said that in January 2023, sales and online servers will be suspended for Diablo III, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch 2, Starcraft, and Warcraft III: Reforged. The company will offer guidance to Chinese players in"the coming days." World of Warcraft: Dragonflight and Overwatch 2: Season 2 will still launch in the country later this year as originally planned.
“We’re immensely grateful for the passion our Chinese community has shown throughout the nearly 20 years we’ve been bringing our games to China,” Blizzard president Mike Ybarra said. “We are looking for alternatives to bring our games back to players in the future.”
