Blossoms performed at the Albert Hall on Thursday as part of their run of five consecutive nights of gigs in Manchester
Blossoms brought a joyous night of funk-filled fun frolics to Manchester’s Albert Hall with the historic venue being the band’s latest stop on their city centre tour.
Although, of course those hits that helped make their name were not ignored, likewise the those famous Blossoms roots. Soon after opener Your Girlfriend and ahead of I Can’t Stand It, Ogden was quick to tell the sold out crowd that, as you might well know, his troupe hails from Stockport. As their devotees will be aware, the band never miss an opportunity to champion their hometown.
So assured and comfortable on-stage, there’s a real sense of Blossoms finding their own sense of identity and they are thriving because of it. Their musical evolution deserves applause and reassuringly it is a journey their audience are seemingly coming on with them.
