Simon Thomas and his wife Derrina have welcomed a baby girl who was born prematurely. The wonderful news comes just a month after Simon and Derrina, who married in July 2021, announced they were expecting their first child together.
Sharing news of their baby’s arrival, the presenter said: ‘Not everything in life goes quite according to plan. One moment we think we’ve got eight weeks until our little one arrives; the next, after Derrina fell rapidly ill, we’re suddenly welcoming into the world a very tiny, but hugely precious baby girl weighing just over three pounds.
Simon, 49, said he was feeling ‘proud and blessed’ to have a ‘beautiful, brave wife’ in Derrina, 31, as well as a ‘precious son’ and ‘now a tiny, wonderful daughter and sister for our boy Ethan’.Simon captured the moments shortly after their baby girl’s arrival Ethan kept a watchful eye on his little sister
‘Thank you Stoke Mandeville and thank you #nhs for being there for us and thank you God for blessing us as a family so much. #newborn #prematurebaby #preeclampsia #newlife.’Simon and Derrina were overjoyed to reveal her pregnancy on September 3, writing in an Instagram post: ‘Fourteen months ago today, @chrissayburn & @brittanysipling sang this beautiful song of blessing over us.’Referring to Ethan, Simon said: ‘We just know that this precious boy is going to be an amazing big brother.
