Body found in hunt for missing backpacker Catherine Shaw in Guatemala
The 23-year-old from from Witney, Oxfordshire, went missing from a hotel in the early hours of March 5.A body has been found in the hunt for missing backpacker Catherine Shaw, 23 She had been on a solo trip around the world since September and had previously travelled to Mexico and California as part of the trip.The Lucie Blackman Trust, which is supporting Miss Shaw’s family, said on Monday evening that a body had been found which is believed to be Miss Shaw’s.
The charity said Miss Shaw had left the Eco Hotel in Mayachik, near San Pedro and San Juan, on March 5 at 1.37am, but then returned at 3.19am.The search encountered many challenges including communication issues due to lack of power in the area.According to the Daily MailThe trust said that at this point she had a small puppy with her but no other possessions.
