Henry Shields had last been seen over a week ago
Officers launched an urgent appeal on Tuesday amid a search for Henry Shields, 23. He went was missing from home inIn a tragic update, officers have now revealed that the body of a man was discovered in Williamson park, Lancaster, just before 10.30am on Wednesday .
Although formal identification has not yet taken place, detectives believe it is the body of Mr Shields. His death is not being treated as suspicious. In a statement, Lancaster Area Police said: "Afternoon all. We asked for your help yesterday to find missing Henry Shields and we're afraid we have a very sad update to bring you.
"At just before 10:30am today we were called to report that a man had been found deceased in Williamson Park. "While no formal identification has been made, we believe it to be the body of 23-year-old Henry. His family are aware and they are being supported. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
