The family of Mary Molloy - who is understood to have been part of a Paisley hillwalking group - have been informed after the body was found on Saturday afternoon.

A body has been found in the search for a missing woman understood to have been part of a Paisley hillwalking group.

The family of Mary Molloy has been informed after the recovery of the body on the Isle of Rum on Saturday June 1. The 68-year-old was last seen between Trollabhal’ and ‘Bealach an Ehuarain’ on the isle of Rum at around 2.30pm on Saturday May 25.READ MORE: Bandstand destroyed at Rutherglen park after being set on fire as probe launched

Mary had been in contact with her family at around 6.30pm that evening, but it was feared she may have become disorientated as she was trying to make her way back to the Dibidil area. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The woman has yet to be formally identified, however the family of Mary Molloy, who had been reported missing in the area, have been made aware."A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
