During an investigation into a serious assault which allegedly took place on Thursday night, officers found the body of an unidentified man inside a flat in Parkhead.
The body of a man has been discovered inside a Glasgow flat during a police investigation into an alleged serious assault.
Officers were called to Springfield Road, in the Parkhead area, to reports a 38-year-old man had been assaulted at around 10.15pm on Thursday night .READ MORE: Heartbroken ex-Rangers star pays tribute to brother after 'tragic death'During their investigation into the alleged assault, officers found the body of an unidentified man inside a flat on the same road.
The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing to identify the man and establish the circumstances surrounding his death.Join Glasgow Live's WhatsApp community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 10.15pm on Thursday, 15 August 2024, a 38-year-old man reported to police he had been assaulted in Springfield Road, Glasgow. The man was taken to hospital and two men, aged 17 and 40, were arrested.
"While conducting enquiries into this serious assault officers discovered the body of an unidentified man within a flat in Springfield Road. The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing to identify the man and establish the circumstances of the death."At this time, officers believe the incidents to be linked."
