According to Canton Police, a 53-year-old East Canton man died shortly after being put into handcuffs after fleeing a traffic accident Thursday.
CANTON, Ohio - Canton Police released the body camera footage of an East Canton man dying while in custody following a traffic crash.
Police said around 8:15 pm officers responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash in the 1700 Block of Sherrick Rd SE. Officers were told by witnesses the suspect fled to the nearby AMVETS located at 1822 Sherrick Rd SE. Officers recognized that Tyson had become unresponsive and administered CPR and several doses of Narcan before the arrival of Canton Fire Department Medics.Ohio BCI was immediately contacted to conduct an independent investigation of the incident, according to police.
