High-scoring Filipino guard Robert Bolick has been released by his Japan B2.League squad Fukushima Firebonds, as announced by the team on Thursday, October 19.
The Fukushima squad's team president Hajime Nishida made the announcement on the Firebonds' social media account.'Bolick was the first player announced as the first contract in this season's lineup, and the club had high expectations for him,' the Fukushima team president stated in its Instagram account.However, Bolick made his intention known to leave the club after a series of talks.
Bolick seemed to adjust well to his team in Japan since deciding not to renew with his PBA squad NorthPort.Against the Yamagata Wyverns on October 7, the 28-year-old Filipino guard scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds and issued two assists as Fukushima scored an 82-71 victory. Bolick, however, did not see action in the team's next three next games.
