Workers at the Malcolm factory in Linwood were evacuated following the discovery.
The discovery of the suspected "old ordnance device" was made at the Malcolm plant in Linwood at around 9am today.
Workers at the Burnbrae Drive factory have since been evacuated from the premises, with police closing local roads, Glasgow Live reports. The Explosive Ordnance Department has been "made aware" of the situation, attended the scene alongside emergency personnel and safely removed the device from the area.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.05am on Tuesday, 24 September 2024, police were called after a device - thought to be an old ordnance device - was found in Burnbrae Dr, Linwood."The EOD - Explosive Ordnance Department - attended and the device was safely removed from the area.
