While I would never take away from someone the joy of watching a colourful display, I don't think fireworks should be sold to the general public

It's nearly bonfire night and as usual for this time of year, my cat has pretty much chewed all of his fur out of the base of his tail.

Imagine just going about your own business and all of a sudden something explodes and you have no idea what it is or if it'll happen again. I can't explain to my cat what Bonfire Night is - to him, it's just terrifying. Last year someone in my village had a fireworks display, but they let people know when it would be happening through a community Facebook page and I was able to keep my cat inside and stick on Classic FM's Pet Classics. The radio show plays calming music for pets and my Sardine loves it and the fireworks don't bother him at all when that's playing.

She is dreading the week leading up to Bonfire Night because she's concerned her two dogs will bark any time they hear a firework and that will wake the baby up. A baby that hasn't been the best at getting to sleep. There are also event firms organising colourful drone displays, instead of fireworks, to minimise the impact fireworks can have. While I'm not against organised fireworks displays, I just don't think fireworks should be sold to the general public.
