'He is the weakest link and doesn’t have the attraction of a Blair', say Conservatives
Labour Party leader, Sir Keir Starmer, has been called “dull” and “boring” and Conservatives are hoping to use this as a line of attack remains Labour’s main weakness because he has still not done enough to dispel the notion that he is “boring”, senior Conservative insiders believe.
His comments were echoed by a Red Wall Tory MP, who highlighted a word cloud on what the public thinks of him broadcast by the BBC on Sunday, which had “nothing” at its front and centre. “City analysts say behind what was saying there is quite a lot of implicit borrowing and she’s not really acknowledging the risk there.”
They also sounded caution over Mr Sunak’s strategy of attempting to portray himself, rather than Sir Keir, as the change candidate capable of long-term decision.
