BORIS JOHNSON has been backed to rule out a second nationwide lockdown as the UK approaches the winter, in an exclusive Express.co.uk poll.
In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, the Prime Minister said he wanted to avoid ordering another lockdown similar to how he wants to avoid using the Trident nuclear deterrent. His position appears to be at odds with that of Sir Patrick Vallance, the Government's chief scientific adviser. Speaking to MPs on Friday, Sir Patrick has said COVID-19"challenges will be very much greater" during the winter months.
