IAIN DUNCAN SMITH has defended Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s right to not ask for an extension to Article 50 despite Remainer MPs passing a law which forces him to do so if he doesn’t pass a Brexit deal by October 13.
The former Conservative leader said the amendment which forces Mr Johnson to request a three-month Brexit extension is a “mess” as he said he admits he wouldn’t ask for a delay. Mr Duncan Smith accused Remainer MPs who are blocking Brexit of being “extremists” after Sky News’ Sophy Ridge asked if the Prime Minister should ignore Parliament if a deal isn’t secured by the deadline.
