The Prime Minister came out of a period of self-imposed hiding today to repeat the claim that when he went out to the garden on May 20, 2020, he thought he was attending a work function.accused him of lying to Parliament, and said he would testify under oath if needed. ‘Nobody told me that what we were doing was against the rules, that the event in question was something that… was not a work event, and as I said in the House of Commons when I went out into that garden I thought that I was attending a work event.’Mr Johnson reduced his public contacts last week after Downing Street said a family member had tested positive for coronavirus – despite official guidance no longer requiring vaccinated contacts to self-isolate.
