Borussia Dortmund plans to retain Jadon Sancho at the club for the upcoming season after his successful loan spell. Sancho's return to Dortmund has been fruitful, with impressive performances and crucial goals. The club is determined to explore all possibilities to secure Sancho's stay beyond his current loan agreement.
Borussia Dortmund will attempt to keep on-loan winger Jadon Sancho at the club next season. Sancho returned to Dortmund in January after he fell out with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag in September. The England international did not feature for United after refusing to apologise for his inflammatory social media response to Ten Hag’s claims that his training performances were not up to scratch.
Sancho has made 10 appearances since his return to Germany and after scoring his first goal in Saturday’s 2-1 win at Werder Bremen, netted the crucial early opener last night as Dortmund beat PSV Eindhoven to reach the last eight of the Champions League. Sancho’s United contract is due to expire in 2026, although there is an option for a further year. It had previously been felt the finances involved may be prohibitive in terms of Sancho returning to Dortmund on a full-time basis. However, the club, who are fourth in the Bundesliga, which is battling with the Premier League to secure a fifth Champions League spot next season, are keen to explore every avenue to keep Sancho for 2024-2
