Merseyside Police are appealing for information following a serious assault in Toxteth
A boy has been taken to hospital after he was hit over the head with a bladed weapon. Merseyside Police have cordoned off Coltart Street in Toxteth this evening after a boy, 14, was attacked. Officers arrived at the scene around 6.30pm following reports that a boy had been walking on Lodge Lane, near the junction with Coltart Street, when he was assaulted by a group of men. Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was taken to hospital with a serious injury to his head.
Detective Inspector Rob Pritchard said: “We are in the early stages of investigating this incident and we are appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch. This was a shocking attack on a young boy who has suffered a serious head injury and we are determined to find the people responsible. “The incident happened on a busy road and would have been witnessed by other people. If you saw what happened or have any information, please get in touch as a matter of urgency.
