Ben Moncrieff, described has 'hard-working lad', was killed in the attack
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a teenager was stabbed to death in McDonald's in Bath.
Avon and Somerset Police has now confirmed that a teenager from South London was remanded to appear before magistrates in Bristol today. Mr Moncrieff's family were updated over the charging decision, and will be supported by specially-trained officers, the police force said.Two other people who were arrested were released without charge.
Chief Inspector Lungu added: "While such tragic incidents are rare in Bath, people can expect to see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days while investigative enquiries are carried out and officer patrols conducted. We would encourage anyone who does have concerns to speak with those officers who will be happy to assist.
A GoFundMe campaign was launched by one of Mr Moncrieff's friends, and almost £6,000 has been raised for his funeral. Heartbroken pal Alfie Rosser said: "Sadly a dear friend to many was taken from us on Saturday morning in the centre of Bath."
