Police flooded Queen's Park near Bolton town centre
A boy of 16 has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault following a series of attacks in a park in Bolton at 6am. Police have increased patrols in and near Queen's Park near the town centre.
Some 15 minutes later, two women who were running through the park were attacked. One was 'dragged' during a sexual assault while her friend was also assaulted when she tried to intervene, according to Greater Manchester Police. A third woman was approached by a boy on nearby Westgate Avenue but she 'spooked' him and he fled, say GMP.
A statement from GMP said: "A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and sexual assault, following several incidents early this morning ."
