The year 7 student was told by teachers on his first day that his hair was not long enough - his dad says he was 'really upset'
A Lincolnshire father has voiced his concerns over stringent school uniform policies after his son was placed in isolation due to his short haircut. Nathan, from North Hykeham, whose son started at Sir Robert Pattinson Academy on September 4, aims to initiate a wider debate about the rigidity of school dress codes and how they may affect children's confidence.
The disagreement resulted in a provisional solution whereby Nathans son would remain in isolation until his hair grew out to a length acceptable to the school. However, Nathan expressed his dissatisfaction with this outcome, stating: "It was left that he was to stay in isolation until his hair grows back beyond what they deem is more than a grade one.
With concerns for others in mind, he stated, "I want to raise a bit of awareness. I know my child isn't the only child but I don't think it's fair and I don't want it happening."
