Charlie Sheen, 11, wanted to say thank you to the hospital that helped his sister
An 11-year-old boy's joke to his dad has turned into an incredible gesture to Alder Hey. Charlie Sheen, an 11-year-old from Rhos-on-Sea in Wales , knew he wanted to do something to help the children's hospital after his sister Ciara, aged five, was rushed in for emergency treatment after a sports accident in June. Charlie’s dad Chris, 38, said: “My little one Ciara had an accident and went to Alder Hey . When we were there, we saw things we never want to see again.
Chris said: “Charlie was like, ‘Can I run five miles for charity?’ and I joked saying, ‘if you can do five, you can do 75’ and he said ‘okay’. Then he said, ‘I’ll raise £50’ I was like, well if you can raise £50, we can raise £2000.” Charlie has been running for miles every day, and has now collected nearly £3,000.
