A boy who weighed more than 30 stone and had to bathe in a pond outside has lost nearly half his body weight after having a gastric band fitted.
He said: ‘I am happier now. Because now I can play football, hang out with friends, play around, go to the river…‘Back then I couldn’t do anything, go anywhere, I couldn’t play football, before I couldn’t play badminton but now I can do it.’ Arya’s parents admitted they spoiled him from the age of five and at his heaviest, the child could eat six packets of noodles a day, along with fizzy drinks and fried chicken.
