Boyzone celebrated their new docuseries, 'No Matter What', with a premiere event, but Mikey Graham, a former member, chose not to attend. The documentary explores the band's history, triumphs, and challenges, including the tensions that led to Mikey's departure.
Boyzone reunited for the first time in seven years for a screening of their upcoming Sky docuseries, No Matter What , but one member was noticeably absent. Ronan Keating , Keith Duffy , and Shane Lynch all attended the exclusive event, putting on a smiley display as they posed for photos together. The trio celebrated the release of their documentary, which also includes footage of Mikey Graham , but Mikey himself chose not to attend.
\Ronan admitted that it was difficult not having Mikey present, stating, 'It's hard that Mikey is not here. It was his choice to not be here. I respect that, we all respect that. I would have loved for him to be here. He's obviously seen the film and is very proud of the film. He sends his love to everybody. It's his decision. It was easier for him. I respect and understand that.' \Mikey has largely retreated from fame and has no contact with his former bandmates. He has previously stated that he no longer wishes to be part of the 'toxic' music industry and has no plans to return. While he expresses well wishes for the other members, he firmly declares, 'I don’t want to go back to how I felt for many years. To see them, if it were for too long, would remind me of that and my future is far too important for me to waste it looking back at my past.' \The documentary explores the band's rise to stardom, their personal journeys with fame, and the sometimes fractious relationship between the members. It includes never-before-seen footage from their early days and clips of manager Louis Walsh. Tensions reportedly reached a boiling point during their 2019 tour, leading to arguments and separate dressing rooms for Ronan and Mikey. The documentary also delves into the tragic death of Stephen Gately in 2009 from an undiagnosed heart condition, which deeply affected the remaining members
