A young barman battling leukaemia has teamed up with a renowned trauma therapist to launch a new mental health support group in East Kilbride.
The fit East Kilbride barman was suddenly struck down with severe sickness and fatigue and received the devastating diagnosis after his dangerously low immune system caused his appendix to burst.But despite his devastating diagnosis and the gruelling treatment still ahead of him, Aidan has remained positive through it all and now wants to use his experience to help others going through similar trauma.
"I did psychology at university but James will be the fully-trained trauma therapist, while I'll be offering advice from my own personal experience and trying to bring people in the door. If the venture is a success, the pair plan to raise funding to establish Mental Health to Mental Wealth as a charity to offer trips and additional services such as cold water therapy.
