An investigation is now underway with a cordon in place
Officers were scrambled to the scene on Albert Road in Levenshulme after reports of 'multiple shots fired' at around 12am today . Cops believe in the run-up to the shooting, a vehicle was damaged by two males - one who was armed with a suspected gun.
Police said the males were then seen chasing a third male, believed to be aged in his 20s. No arrests have been made.No injuries have been reported. A cordon remains in place on a stretch of Albert Road as investigations are carried out.Chief Superintendent Rick Jackson said: "This is clearly a distressing incident for those living nearby and I want to reassure you that extensive enquiries are ongoing and finding those responsible remains an absolute priority.
"We will however have extra uniformed patrols in place over the coming days whilst the investigation continues and if you need any reassurance, they will be on hand to support. There is no place for firearms on the streets of Greater Manchester and we are working hard every day to bring those involved in the possession or use of firearms to justice.
"I would urge anyone with relevant information about this incident, or anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV footage, to report it to police."
